Shar is a Baloch tribe settled in the Sindh, Balochistan and Punjab provinces in Pakistan.

History

The Shar tribe is a sub clan of Rind Baloch. It began when Jato married her cousin Mir Murad Khan Rind , son of Mir Jalal Khan, producing the new tribe. Their ancestors were from Shori Shar (Balochistan). They migrated from Balochistan to Sindhat the Kot Diji under kingdom of Mir Ali Murad Khan Talpure. Dadi Gonahri had 12 boys and 14girls. Among them were Qaim Khan, Saleh Khan, Sohrab Khan, Gaji Khan and Masoo Khan. The tribe fought a war with the Burdi Baroch tribe. The Shar tribe took part in the Battle of Talpur against the British.
